We host several events throughout the year with a goal of promoting all the different dance clubs at Queen’s.

 

Typically held at the end of April, the Queen’s Annual Dance Battle is an initiative that calls all of the dance groups at Queen’s University to challenge each other in a “dance off” on stage, by displaying their best showcase of the year and their innate abilities to “freestyle” dance. This event invites and attracts many alumni of the dance community to take part of the event. The Queen’s Annual Dance Battle is typically held at Stages Night Club and is a 19+ event.

 

Dance workshops help dancers develop skills in a variety of areas by exposing them to new and different styles introduced by various choreographers.. The focus of QDD Dance Workshops is to present dancers with an opportunity where they can receive one-on- one training and attention in a non-competitive atmosphere while building connections between dance and diverse cultures that inspire and transform dancers at Queen’s University. These workshops will be held throughout the school year, and include a variety of classes such as ballet, jazz, modern/contemporary, and hip-hop, that will be hopefully push the boundaries for young dance artists and challenge dancers of all levels.
